godwin > The National Gallery of Antique Art...also the Barberini Palace... has a beautiful collection of art. We could also see some of the rooms where the family lived.
From here we headed back to our hotel to gather our things and head out to catch the plane for Venice, Italy...
godwin > Can you imagine a job that would require you to stay frozen in a cramped position for hours at a time?
godwin > Rome photo
godwin > Oops. But his coin did go in!
godwin > The Fontana di Trevi..the Trevi Fountain...the most celebrated fountain in Rome. Known for its excellent water and for the legend that whoever throws a cion in the fountain, will assure his return to Rome. It must be true...I've been back 3 times!
godwin > The Trevi Fountain was created by the architect Salvi (1735) under Pope Clement XII, and is the facade of a large palace.
godwin > Drop a coin in his cup and he'll sneeze on you!
godwin > Spanish Steps and the Piazza Di Spagna (Spanish Square).

the Spanish Steps were built in the 1720's to link the square with the French church of Tinita dei Monti (at the top- undergoing repairs).
The piazza has been the place to go (for a long time) to get the local news . We call it a hang-out. It was also once a place to buy statues..stay in popular hotels...
godwin > From where I was sitting, I was facing this park... a pleasant place for an afternoon...rent bicycles, scooters, ride a carousel....
The National Gallery of Antique Art...also the Barberini Palace... has a beautiful collection of art. We could also see some of the rooms where the family lived.
